This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), b) OR [(2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an appropriate range of patient care experiences. Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as "Physician Resident Providers" (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a "scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Must have DEA License Murfreesboro Inpatient - 2 full time positions immediately available for our inpatient unit in Murfreesboro. Incumbent will be a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team including dedicated Social Worker, Pharmacist, Psychologist. Teams commonly host resident trainees for which the incumbent would be responsible. ECT experience preferred. Murfreesboro Interventional Psychiatry/Acute Care Float - Incumbent would be primarily responsible for on campus ECT service and consults as well as working with Nashville interventional program on expansion of ketamine/esketamine/TMS service. Occasional assignments for additional coverage as float within the acute care section. Duties may include but are not limited to: Provides treatment for beneficiaries with general psychiatric disorders in a variety of treatment settings. Tele-Mental Health will be used as appropriate based on patient needs. The incumbent must be skilled Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology and must be able to provide a comprehensive clinical summary/psychiatric summary. The incumbent must collaborate with approved fee-based community Mental Health inpatient program to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medical and follow-up appointments as well as, coordinate with ambulatory care services as appropriate. All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures using the computerized Patient Record System. The incumbent provides compensation and pension examinations/review and assigned to support mental health service's responsibility to VA regional offices on Veterans who require C&P examinations/review and VA benefit decisions. The incumbent will provide comprehensive clinical psychiatric evaluations, treatment evaluations, treatment evaluations, treatment plans and treatment. May be required to write admission orders for either campus with transfer orders. The incumbent will adhere to all quality management performance measures which will be reviewed monthly through peer reviews: missed opportunities, new and established patient wait times, complete clinical reminders, complete patient reviews, completed encounters at end of each patient visit.
