General Description of the Job Class
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the strategic partner with assigned business units developing strategies to align with business objectives. The HRBP functions as a business leader that facilitates the development and implementation of people management and development practices, and shares responsibility for goals and deliverables with their assigned business units. The HRBP will serve as an expert consultant to management while also acting as an employee champion and change agent. Proactively develop plans to ensure goals are reached and best practice/best in class is consistently implemented. Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, culture and engagement, business objectives and goals of the business unit. The Business Partner understands the manager's operational work plans, departmental operational performance and relevant HR metrics.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Provides strategic HR business partner support to assigned service lines or departments. Supports assigned client groups in the achievement of its people related objectives for employee engagement, patient or customer satisfaction, financial targets, talent development and the development and maintenance of a high performing talentforce.
Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; promoting adherence to all procedures and policies; developing work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinating and delegating resources to accomplish organizational goals; partnering internally and externally to make effective business decisions; solving complex problems; escalating issues or risks as appropriate; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and evaluating recommendations made by others.
Collaborates with HR Leadership, HR Business Partners and subject matter experts (SME's) to successfully drive organization-wide programs and initiatives including employee experience, rewards and recognition, performance coaching, workforce planning and change management.
Identifies HR trends across the business groups or job classifications to determine root causes of issues. Proactively designs and implements assessments or solutions for the organization or service line.
Partners with other HR staff to research and share best practices in order to ensure consistency and teamwork within the HR team. Actively participates within the HR team in the development, analysis, modification, and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Provides group and one-on-one coaching with leaders and employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, human resources management, and problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work generally requires skills, knowledge, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience
Work generally requires five years of experience sufficient to demonstrate expertise in:
Strategic Human Resources Planning
Human Resources program development
Diversity and inclusiveness strategies
Analytical, project management, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in a health care environment of similar size and complexity is strongly preferred.
Experience in business consultation, performance improvement, problem solving and strategic/proactive thinking.
Exhibits skills in relationship management, negotiation, persuasion and conflict resolution.
Exhibit strong project management and change management skills.
Demonstrates skills and experience in coaching, influence, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, strategic and tactical analysis, change advocacy and problem solving.
Demonstrates an ability to develop and implement complex projects from inception to completion, analyze data, trends and develop and implement appropriate solutions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Consulting, project management and business literacy skills and knowledge of lean process improvement are required.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
