The School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in the Department of Health Policy and Management. We encourage scholars working in any area of health services research/health policy research to apply and are especially interested in scholars with backgrounds in health care management/organizational theory, medical sociology, or researchers that apply AI and machine learning in public health or health care settings. The ideal candidates will build upon, expand, and strengthen our department’s existing expertise. We strongly encourage Associate or senior Assistant Professors with 3-4 years of academic experience to apply. One to two positions are available.
Appointment type: This is a 9-month, hard money position(s) to begin in August 2025. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimal Qualifications:
Experience: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR RANK: Applicants for the Assistant Professor level should show evidence of research productivity, teaching experience, and the potential to obtain external funding. Candidates must be effective communicators and demonstrate ability and interest in working with diverse student, faculty and staff populations having a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, and skill levels.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR RANK OR HIGHER: Applicants for the Associate Professor level should show evidence of a well-developed scholarly portfolio with external funding. Applicants must also show evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring. Candidates must be effective communicators and demonstrate ability and interest in working with diverse student, faculty and staff populations having a variety of backgrounds, learning styles, and skill levels.
Preferences: Candidate who have independent teaching experience. Applicants are preferred to have demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching. Candidates should be passionate about inclusive teaching and have demonstrated evidence-based pedagogies in courses taught previously. Research and scholarship that is conducted in under-resourced settings and/or in partnership with marginalized or vulnerable populations Experience and/or commitment to the use of inclusive pedagogies (student-centered approaches that engage a diverse array of student identities) in teaching Experience or commitment working with a diverse body of students in a mentoring role.
