The Licensure & Credentialing Specialist and Clinical Liaison supports the Graduate School of Counseling (GSC) students and alumnx with the initial clinical mental health counseling licensure process. Duties of this position include: 1) support students' initial licensure application process, including any subsequent appeals; 2) offer credentialing and licensing resources, workshops, and personalized support to prospective and current students, as well as alumni. Collaborate with the broader GSC community to ensure effective resourcing and support are consistently provided; 3) research and consultation related to licensure requirements and mandatory disclosure requirement for applicants and current students; and 4) confirms graduating students have completed all curricular and program requirements prior to signing confirmation of MA education, coordination with GSC leadership regarding changes, updates and modifications; this position reports to the Dean of GSC.

Graduate School of Counseling
?The Naropa University GSC offers an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CHMC) supported by five concentrations in: Buddhism Informed Contemplative Counseling (BICC), Somatic Counseling, Mindfulness- Based Transpersonal Counseling -residential and low residency (MTC-R; MTC-LR), Transpersonal Contemplative Art-based Counseling (TCAC), and Nature-based Transpersonal Counseling (NBTC). CHMC graduates are eligible for consideration as Licensed Professional Counselors.

Job Summary
?Support for initial licensure and subsequent appeals:?

1. Meet with students and alumnx to consult and connect them to the licensure process in the state(s) where they intend to practice.?
2. In consultation with Admissions and the Registrar, keep a record of the states where students reside and where students intend to practice.?
3. Provide students and alumnx documentation on how the CMHC curriculum aligns or does not align with state licensure requirements including additional required coursework or study required in a specific state.?
4. Inform and discuss the options under the Counseling Compact or endorsement. (Licensure portability)?
5. Address student and alumnx difficulties and concerns with licensure issues.?
6. Serve as initial point of contact for university when alumnx are either provisionally denied or denied licensure from the state to which they applied.?
7. Serve as main point of contact, along with the Dean for GSC staff and faculty on the state board licensure requirements.?
8. Meet with GSC chairs, deans and faculty regularly to review curricula and provide recommendations for how curricula can continue to meet CACREP and state licensure requirements.

?Job Responsibilities
?Offer credentialing and licensing resources, workshops, and personalized support to prospective and current students, as well as alumni. Collaborate with the broader GSC community to ensure effective resourcing and support are consistently provided.

1. Host regular office hours to assist students in researching their state board requirements and addressing related questions.?
2. Conduct credentialing workshops each semester to 1) educate prospective and current students on post-degree licensure eligibility requirements, and 2) guide them in locating practice tests and additional resources. ?
3. Research, develop, and update resources for prospective and current students, as well as alumni, while managing the MyNaropa web portal to ensure its content remains relevant and current. ?
4. Conduct regular meetings with Admissions to enhance their understanding of the licensure process, enabling them to better assist prospective students in making informed decisions about attending Naropa.?
5. Work closely with GSC Chairs and advisors to ensure that all processes are in alignment for CACREP accreditation. ?
6. Provide in-class presentations and licensure Q & A sessions as requested, in advance, by faculty.?
7. Attend and present licensing and credentialing information and resources at each new student orientation.

Research and consultation-licensure requirements and mandatory disclosure statements for applicants and current students;?

1. Research licensing requirements in all 51 U.S. jurisdictions & Puerto Rico to develop a working knowledge or their unique processes; research and learning is ongoing/continuous and integral to success in this role.?
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of American Counseling Association announcements as they relate to licensure.?
3. When necessary, communicate with state boards to clarify understanding of unique licensure requirements.?
4. Upon request from the Dean or Associate Dean provide data on licensure requirements, trends, changes and challenges.?
5. Connect applicants, students and alumnx to state boards so they may research answers to credentialing questions.?
6. Ensures clear communication relative to Naropa's role in the post-degree licensure process; e.g., we share the eligibility requirements and note that the incumbent in this position do not give advice, direction or speak for state licensing boards in any way.

Verification and Risk Management?

1. Receive, verify sign, and return the certification of master's education form for all applicants for licensure.?
2. In collaboration with the GSC Dean or Associate Dean provide institutional documentation (letters, course catalog entries, etc.) in support of a graduate's denied licensure application.?
3. Inform the Dean or Associate Dean of emerging or recent changes in licensure laws that may expose Naropa to potential risks-where relevant consult the President's designee for risk management.

Student and program Assessment ?

1. Communicates with concentration chairs regarding faculty completion of KPIs rubrics,?
2. Accesses and downloads Canvas Outcomes for GSC,?
3. Coordinates with the Office of Career and Development to collate and summarize data, prepares initial assessment report date and reviews with the Dean or Association Dean.

?Other Functions/Duties Encountered in Day-to-Day Work ?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related Mental Health degree.?
• Three years of administrative experience in higher education and familiarity with licensure boards.?
• Familiarity with CACREP licensure standards or equivalent experience with licensure boards in higher education or related fields.?
• Strong technical writing capabilities?
• Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations?
• Robust organizational and communications skills and ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines?
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to manage conflict and ambiguity effectively?
• Extensive demonstrated research skills and attention to detail?
• Familiarity with Clinical Mental Health Counseling curriculum; accreditation requirements and licensure requirements for licensed professional counselors.?
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with students, alumnx, faculty, and staff?
• Strong communications skills (verbal, written, and listening)?
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)?
• Knowledge of & experience with Adobe Pro and applications related to PDF editing?
• Able to self-direct and be a self-driven learner to create system for credentialing efficiency

?Preferred Qualifications:?

• Familiarity with the Naropa University Graduate School of Counseling or has knowledge of similar counseling programs within institutions of higher education?
• Familiarity with the concept of contemplative education?
• License in Professional Counseling (LPC, LCHMC, LPCC) or related mental health field (LCSW, LMFT)
