RN (PRN-Level 1) Labor & Delivery
SUMMARY: Under direction of the department nurse director, provides care to the obstetrical patient during the antepartum and intrapartum phases of pregnancy. Applies knowledge of the labor and delivery process through the application and interpretation of the fetal/uterine tracing, evaluation of sterile examinations, monitoring of obstetrical medications, monitoring and care of the patient undergoing an epidural, circulation duties with the patient undergoing a cesarean section, and recovery and stabilization of the delivered patient. During the post-partum phase, provides assessments and care of the postpartum patient and neonate, provides education to the mother on care, feeding and security of the infant.
