The role you’ll contribute:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) acts as an essential team member in providing positive and effective care for patients. The LPN participates in the everyday workings of the unit and provides direct patient care for patients.

 

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·       Provides for delivery of patient care through assessment with identification and prioritization of presenting problems or needs, to facilitate optimum patient care

·       Evaluates patients presented to the unit upon their arrival

·       Performs, properly documents, and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with departmental and hospital policy

·       Assesses for, documents, and intervenes when abuse or neglect suspected

·       Recognizes potential emergency/life threatening situations and implements preventive measures

·       When applicable, follows hospital protocol and physician orders regarding use of restraints

·       Demonstrates skill and judgement necessary to implement physician’s orders and procedures and protocols of care, to provide quality patient care

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·       Current license or permit issued by the state of Texas to practice as a licensed vocational nurse or in a qualifying compact State.

·       Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

·       Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment

·       Demonstrated ability to work under stressful condition
