The Nursing Assistant carries out all assignments given by the Registered Nurse, is accountable for all patient care given during a shift, is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and for promoting teamwork among co-workers. Responsibilities: Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene (bathing, shaving, oral care, giving and removing bedpan or urinal, etc.) Ensures patient's dietary needs are met Assist with serving trays, assists with completion of menus, provides snacks as needed and provides fluids. Provides a safe and comfortable environment. Obtains specimens as needed by MD, per Charge nurse instructions. Takes vital signs accurately at prescribed times.
