The role you'll contribute:
The Vascular Access Specials Clinician is responsible for the placement, monitoring, and assessment of advanced vascular catheters. This position serves as a resource for patient care within an assigned group of patients as related to other clinical activities within the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Vascular Access Specials Clinician will participate in quality and performance improvement tracking related to advanced catheters. Provides educational resources related to advanced catheters. Incumbents must utilize both professional and independent judgment. This clinician must use clinical skills, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery.
The value you'll bring to the team:
- Assesses patients needs and develops/revises individualized care plans based on vascular access requirements.
- Inserts and monitors peripherally inserted central catheters, midlines, and standard peripheral IVs using sterile techniques and safety precautions.
- Completes appropriate charges and procedural documentation as per hospital policy and procedures.
- Serves as a resource for staff regarding vascular access assessment, products, and procedures.
- Provides in-service training and educational resources to staff related to advanced catheters.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications :
- Bachelors of Nursing
- Work Experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) (NBRC-CRT)
- Non-Cert Radiologic Tech Reg (NCT)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Sedation Registered Nurse (CSRN)
