*    Coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization.
*    Possesses the knowledge of the anatomy and physiology and disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and dermal systems.
*    Utilizes principles of current wound management theory when providing care to patients with acute and chronic wounds including but not limited to staging of wounds.
*    Knowledgeable of surgical procedures and postoperative course of patients undergoing bowel surgery and management of ostomy care for patients and their families.
*    Demonstrates knowledge and skill to develop and implement policies and procedures to manage patient's with draining wounds, fistulae and/or tubes; wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care and incontinence.
*    Provides patient, family education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies associated with would care.
*    Collaborates with physicians and inpatient clinical staff regarding the patient plan of care for wound care management and identified interventions.
*    Completes accurate and timely documentation of the patient interaction including but not limited to wound care.
*    Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health, and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
*    Works independently with minimal supervision.
*    Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.

• Two years experience in medical/surgical, rehabilitation nursing required.

*    Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required
*    Basic Life Support (BLS) required
*    Certified by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCP) as a Certified wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) required
