The mission of the Duke Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy is to promote health and improve lives by preventing, diagnosing, and treating blood cancer and other life threatening diseases through integrated innovative and holistic patient care, education, and research.
The Division is integrated with the Duke Cancer Institute, one of 69 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.
The Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy (HMCT) Program is a multidisciplinary basic, translational and clinical research program whose overall goal is to improve outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. The broad, long-term goal of the HMCT Program is to build on and extend the current knowledge in the fields of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, hematopoietic cell transplantation, and immunotherapy, and to develop and implement novel strategies for improving therapeutic results in these patients through a collaborative and integrated approach involving all the investigators in the program.

Malignant Hematologist, Myeloma Focus
The Division of Hematologic Malignancies & Cellular Therapy at Duke Health is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist with a focus in Myeloma to join our nationally recognized blood cancer program.
We are particularly interested in physicians with several years of experience beyond fellowship who are passionate about academic medicine, clinical research, and education, while delivering exceptional patient-centered care. This new faculty partner will work in diverse settings throughout Duke Health in the Raleigh/Durham area, with a balance of work and settings tailored to their clinical and research interests.
The role advances our research mission through clinical trials and scholarly activity, while contributing to Duke's academic vitality through mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
New faculty will maintain a small clinical footprint at Duke University Medical Center. Our specialized myeloma practice is centered at Duke Raleigh Hospital Cancer Center, part of Duke Health's continued growth in Raleigh, Cary, and additional Wake County locations, where teams oversee outpatient operations, infusion services, and inpatient consultations. This position focuses on the full spectrum of myeloma medical management, with transplant and CAR-T services provided through Duke University Medical Center, ensuring seamless access to our complete cellular therapy program while allowing Wake County-based faculty to concentrate on building a high-volume, ambulatory myeloma practice.
Our faculty working at Raleigh-area sites will have the opportunity to actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, facilitate clinical trial enrollment, and maintain rigorous collaboration with the Duke Blood Cancer Center in Durham.
Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology
Demonstrated focus in myeloma (multiple myeloma is greatest need)
Strong interest in academic advancement, research, and multidisciplinary care
