The Health Technician (EMT) is assigned to the VANJ Medical Center Fire Department in the Public Safety Service at the Lyons Campus. The medical center is comprised of 36 structures of various classes of construction located on 298 acres with approximately 600 inpatients and an approximate staff of 1000 employees as well as a varying number of outpatients on a daily basis. Duties may include but are not limited to: Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections of apparatus and equipment. Operates the medical center ambulance to respond to medical emergencies on the grounds of the medical center including life threatening emergencies.
