DescriptionThe ACNA is responsible for competent care of patients in the Inpatient acute care setting. Removes saline lock and indwelling urinary catheter under the direction of the nurse (excludes patients with acute urinary retention, bladder outlet obstruction, urology consult or has had a urological, gynecological or perineal procedure/surgery performed. Performs bedside glucometry and application of oximetry. The ACNA is a vital member of the IP Acute Care Team and acts as a mentor and preceptor to new staff.
