Clinical Biochemical Geneticist Medical Genetics and Metabolism MassGeneral for Children Massachusetts General Hospital The Medical Genetics and Metabolism Unit of the Department of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General for Children seeks a dynamic Clinical Physician to join the clinical genetics team specializing in the area of metabolism at a premier Harvard-affiliated academic teaching hospital. The Medical Genetics Unit provides pediatric and adult clinical genetic services throughout MGH and neighboring hospitals, offering inpatient consultations, outpatient clinic evaluations, and prenatal counseling. As an Instructor or Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, the successful candidate will also be responsible for training medical students, residents and fellows who rotate through the Medical Genetics clinics. This position is envisioned as approximately 75% clinical and 25% research, preferably with a metabolism related focus. We expect this individual will help with development and expansion of clinical trials with strong mentorship. The successful applicant will be joining 9 MD geneticists, 4 genetic counselors and two nutritionists. Special interests of the faculty include inborn errors of metabolism, lysosomal storage diseases, mitochondrial disorders, Williams Syndrome, Down syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome, Stickler Syndrome, Myhre syndrome, Turner Syndrome, cardiac genetics, teratology, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, Beckwith Wiedemann syndrome, and cancer genetics. Opportunities for additional inpatient and outpatient areas of focus abound. MGH, its affiliated hospitals, as well as other Boston-area programs, provide an unparallel environment to pursue and develop research opportunities.
