Research Faculty Position
The Biomedical Statistics Research Core at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is
seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Professor. The academic
appointment for the position will be in the Department of Psychiatry on the Research Scholar Pathway.
The selected candidate will collaborate with investigators on NIH and other funded research. The
candidate must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues in regard to sound study design, with
a strong emphasis on appropriate power analysis and statistical methods. The expectations for the
position include research, mentoring, and establishing an extensive network of contacts in the scientific
community, resulting in publications in scientific journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
Applicants must have a doctorate in biostatistics or a related quantitative field with two or more years of
experience in a biomedical research environment. Candidate research publication and educational
credentials must be of sufficient level to allow for serving as a PI, Co-PI, Co-I, or named biostatistician for
internal and external peer-reviewed grant proposals to generate funding for their salary support as well
as support of other staff.
Biomedical Statistics is one of 12 research cores in the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine.
The purpose of the Core is to develop and maintain a comprehensive program of biostatistics research
support for basic science, clinical, and translational studies, providing expertise in collaborative and
methodological research.
