Our Risk Consultant will be a trusted advisor on what drives malpractice claims, how to avoid the risk, and how to work through harm events when they happen.

As our Risk Consultant, you will be responsible for partnering with clients within your region to understand and reduce their malpractice risk, better manage harm events, and ultimately help us grow and retain business. As part of a team of experts, this position provides consultation, action-planning, data-driven tools, and education on top drivers of malpractice risk and strategies to improve. This role will also help clients be ready to work through patient harm events and build best practices into their communication and resolution programs. This is a remote-work position covering clients located in their region.

You will be responsible for:

• Serving as the primary service contact and consultant for customers in the Mountain West region
• Building relationships with customers through proactive assessments, action plans, and solutions
• Preparing customers to better manage patient harm events with compassion and healing

• Collaborating with the team to create and deliver impactful tools, resources, and education
• Building subject matter expertise in malpractice risk and communication and resolution programs
• Sharing expertise through writing projects and speaking opportunities
• Partnering with claim and underwriting teams to share insights on risk
• Supporting new business and retention efforts

You will have:

• Bachelor’s degree – healthcare field, administration, or law with emphasis in healthcare
• Preferred JD or master’s degree in healthcare field, administration, or law with emphasis in healthcare
• 3 years’ experience working with risk management or malpractice claim management/defense
• Experience researching, developing, and delivering impactful writing projects and presentations
• Experience assessing risk in health care and strategizing on improvement
• Public speaking experience in-person and virtually
• Customer service orientation
