JOB SUMMARY Performs complex studies on the distribution and determinants of infectious and chronic diseases and other public health issues. Conducts surveillance activities and investigations of reportable diseases. Collects, manages, and analyzes data to make recommendations for disease prevention and control. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manages active and passive surveillance activities on infectious diseases, environmental health events, public health syndromes, chronic diseases, injuries, and similar issues. Develops conclusions from surveillance data and identifies implications for public health programs. Designs instruments and methods for the collection and analysis of disease-related data.
