Exceptional Patient-Centric Service is your calling!
You approach each professional and patient interaction as a partnership; you want to understand their needs fully. In this role, you'll be front and center, communicating with our patients – delivering quality customer service as you help our pharmacist prepare and distribute medication to our culturally diverse patient population. Our hospital looks for people like you who know how to build and maintain long-term relationships. If you are attentive and meticulous, we want to hear from you.
We want people who can deal with our fast pace while being calm
Our diverse and inclusive inpatient Pharmacy is a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment. We consistently meet stringent demands for quality and productivity, and regularly take on new challenges. We want a Pharmacy Technician who can think and work as fast as we do. Working in collaboration with our licensed pharmacist, you’ll assist and support the department in dispensing and preparing medication for our patients. To be a successful candidate, you must be able to:
- Screen written, phone and electronic prescription orders for accuracy and completeness
- Process submitted prescriptions: count pills, package, label and dispense medications
- Participate in PI/QC activities, perform inventory audits and purchase supplies/medication
- Verify patient information and process payments and insurance claims
- Respond to patients’ inquiries and refer them to the pharmacist
To qualify, you must possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years' experience, preferably at a hospital or retail pharmacy
- NYS RPhT license and Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT-PTCB)
- Efficiency in filling and labeling prescriptions, record maintenance and POS
- Knowledge of claims submissions/adjudications/troubleshooting
- Computer proficiency with excellent customer service, management, and basic math skills
- Prime Rx experience is desirable but will train a quick learner
